I Survived the Amazon
Hey all, I had an amazing trip to Peru. I am still processing through it. It was a great trip and I had great students. It was difficult at times and I also realized how much expectations that I had for the trip. We had a crazy schedule that seemed to change daily and I was surprised to find that most of our ministry involved vbs and church services every single night. The people were not very open or receptive as what I expected and that made it difficult because I had to keep twenty-six people and myself encouraged. However, during the last week of the trip we saw the Lord break open and do some great things. One of the highlights for me was when I did a baptism service in the river for my team. I talked to them about baptism and what it meant and brought them many of the popular theologies on baptism and then presented them with scripture and shared my views on it. In all we baptized nine students and Shaun, one of my co-leaders. It was a powerful service and it impacted a lot of the students. It was also the first baptism service that I had ever done so that what was pretty exciting and special for me.
Well, I am currently trying to adjust back to life in the states and life without an army of students depending on you and all of the responsibilities that go along with it. I am really tired and for once in my life, I have found myself with a lack of words. I’m having trouble putting words to my experiences and even what I’m processing through. So please just pray for me to have some healthy processing and more importantly an amazing amount of rest.
