I have just come to realize that it has been quite sometime since my last update and many of you are wandering what in the world is going on with me and where I might be right now.  Well, believe it or not, Georgia is home for me, and yes, it feels funny even saying that.  I have settled in to my apartment as much as I can; knowing that the next big move will be to Kenya.  However, I am so blessed to be here in Gainesville, GA.  I have seen the Lord move in incredible ways, one of which is I am now receiving free room and board.  This is huge because I can get a part time job and work less hours so that I can spend more time with the students.

In case I have lost you as to why I am even in Georgia, allow me to clue you in on these details.  I am overseeing the community life of an internship group that contains six students.  There are four girls and two guys who are interning with Adventures in Missions.  I am currently living with the two guys and then the four girls live two floors above me.  I maintain peace in the household and look for key opportunities for teaching and encouragement.  I also do my best to model for them what it looks like to be a radical follower of Christ.

My invitation to them and anyone else has been fairly simple, “I really don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m heading towards Christ and you’re more than welcome to walk with me and figure it out.”  Discipleship is not as complex as we make it.  It does not exist or take place in any kind of program.  Discipleship is when real people do life together; when they walk out their faith, fall down, help each other up and walk on.  It requires that we be vulnerable with each other, being willing to laugh and cry together. As you can see discipleship is very much on my heart so I take every opportunity to discuss it.

So anyways, I am in Gainesville until July and then sometime after that I will leave out to go to Kenya.  I am very pleased to be here.  The Lord has shown me that this is a time of preparation and learning for me.  Never before have I been surrounded by such a wealth of knowledge and a wide variety of experiences.  It is so refreshing for me to be challenged on a seemingly daily basis.  I also enjoy living within the Lord’s provision.
